Some Types of Concealed Carry Holsters

Part of the process of selecting a concealed carry weapon is deciding the type of holster you will use. Choosing which of the many concealed carry accessories you will use is a personal decision. Here are some types of holsters that you should consider.
Waistband Holsters
There are two options of waistband holsters – Inside the Waistband and Outside the Waistband. These holsters attach to the waistband of your clothing. Waistband holsters are convenient, as you easily remove the holster at the end of the day. Remember that you will need to increase the size of your waistband to accommodate the holster.
Shoulder Holsters
A shoulder holster is a harness worn over the shoulders to carry your gun. They are comfortable and usually have additional pouches to carry magazines. For the gun to remain concealed, you will need to wear a jacket, which is challenging in warmer weather.
Thigh Holsters
Concealed carry thigh holsters are worn under a dress or skirt which hides the weapon. Thigh holsters provide easy access to your handgun. However, the design of the holster and the shape of the thigh cause movement of the holster.
Apparel Holsters
From jackets with hidden zippers to pants with built-in holsters, apparel options are endless. Apparel is designed for concealed carry accessories, and the clothes are built to meet your needs. Before you invest in apparel, know where on your body you plan to conceal.
Off the Body Holsters
You may choose to keep your weapon in a purse or fanny pack. There are also handgun mounts to install under your desk. Off-the-body holsters offer ideal concealment options. However, you may need to spend more time practicing your draw.
Selecting a holster can be a challenging decision. Choosing a comfortable concealed carry holster that is easy to access makes you more comfortable with your concealed carry weapon.
